4 APRİL 2012
During her talk on April 4th at SALT Walk-in Cinema, artist Hamra Abbas will focus on her latest works referring to the city and the everyday.
Drawing upon culturally loaded imagery and iconography, in an often playful manner, Abbas appropriates and transforms traditional motifs and styles to examine questions of conflict within society. Over the years, she has consistently produced work that involves an element of interaction with people, whether in installations, sculpture, or miniature painting. Recently she has been influenced most by the theme of cities and its people.
Works that reflect Hamra Abbas' inspirations from the cities she has lived and travelled to, will be on display at PİLOT Galeri between 3 April and 19 May within the scope of her solo show "City and the Everyday"
