Zeren Göktan completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at Bilkent University's Faculty of Architecture, Art, and Design (Graphic Design/Painting Department). She then completed her second master's degree in media: photography, video, and sound at Tufts University in Boston, USA, on a full scholarship.
She held her first solo exhibition at the Maçka Art Gallery in 1997. Her 2013 solo exhibition, “Sayaç,” held at the Zilberman Gallery, was a continuation of a multi-stage project that included the online website anitsayac.com, a digital memorial dedicated to women murdered in Turkey, and installations.
Her photography series “Deep Blue” was exhibited at the Zülfaris Synagogue in Karaköy, Istanbul, in March 2021. Her most recent solo exhibition, “Between You and Me,” opened at Pilot Gallery in Istanbul in November 2025.
The artist's installations, videos, and photographs have been exhibited in the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Greece, and her works have been featured in numerous exhibitions organized by Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center, Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul Modern, DEPO, SALT, and Akbank Art and Culture Center. Her works have been published in local and international magazines and books.
